Halyk Bank
Halyk Bank (Member of the Halyk group; headquartered in city of Almaty) is one of Kazakhstan's leading financial services groups. Its full Kazakh name translates into English as "National Savings Bank of Kazakhstan Joint-Stock Company". The Bank offers wide range of services (banking, insurance, leasing, brokerage, asset management) to its retail, SME and corporate customers. Halyk Bank acts as a non-exclusive paying and collection agent for the Government for pension and other social security payments. The bank is the legal successor of the Soviet-era Sberbank in Kazakhstan, analogous to Sberbank in Russia.
Established in 1923, Halyk Bank is third largest by volume of business activity and largest by customer base and distribution network in Kazakhstan. As on 31st December 2013, bank has around 544 outlets across the country, with 2,034 ATMs and 11,172 POS terminals with its subsidiary-banks in Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Georgia.
